dragonage

Appearances in Dragon Age: The Veilguard are used to transmog (change) the cosmetic appearance of an equipped item without changing its stats. Appearances can be accessed at the wardrobe in the Meditation Chamber of the Lighthouse (or at the chest in the Infirmary, prior to completing the quest The Singing Blade).

Appearances are available for weapons, helms, vitaars, and armor. Acquiring the actual item will provide a corresponding appearance for that item that can be applied to other items. The name of the appearance may differ from the name of the actual item. Additional appearances can be acquired from loot chests, merchants, and quest rewards. Many appearances have a graphical model that does not appear for an actual item. It is not possible to obtain all appearances during a single playthrough because some appearances are class or background-exclusive.

When an appearance has been applied to a slot, it can be toggled on and off in the inventory interface.
