“Zara and her little jests. "He's already the Demon of Vyrantium! Won't this be ironic?" Hilarious. And now look at the mess you've made of my facility. She always leaves me to clean up.”

Calivan is the Venatori head warden of the Ossuary.

Involvement

Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Around 9:51 Dragon, Lucanis Dellamorte was contracted to assassinate Calivan but unbeknownst to Lucanis, Illario Dellamorte and Calivan's master, Magister Zara Renata, conspired to betray him. The Venatori ambushed Lucanis' ship and Zara sent Lucanis to the Ossuary to be an experimental subject.

As the warden of the Ossuary, Calivan oversaw the management of the underwater prison and the possession of its prisoners in order to cultivate specific demons.[1] Lucanis proved to be a troublemaker as he scared the other wardens[2] and the demon of Spite that he was infested with did not break out of his body like they anticipated.[3] Although Zara would not give up on making Lucanis manifest a demon of Spite, Calivan was advised by Felicia Erimond to just kill Lucanis and accept whatever results it produces.[4][5]

During Sea of Blood, First Talon Caterina Dellamorte made a deal with the Veilguard to rescue Lucanis, offering them Lucanis' services in exchange for his rescue.

When the Veilguard arrives at the prison, Lucanis had broken containment and went on a rampage. The Venatori narrowly sealed him in ice only for him to break out and kill all present. Upon being told the Veilguard required a magekiller against the Evanuris, Lucanis requested Rook help him retrieve the vial of his blood that Zara Renata would use to control him, killing the prison warden, Calivan (the target he was contracted to kill), in the process.
