During Dragon Class, Taash invites Rook to have drinks with the Lords of Fortune at the Hilt. During the meeting, Cutter, a new qunari Lord, proposes to the Lords that they kill a supposed menacing Hivernal dragon to garner wealth and fame from a nearby village. Taash quickly discerned from Cutter's erroneous descriptions of the dragon that he was describing a Kaltenzahn that was acting naturally. Taash states attacking it would get the Lords of Fortune killed for no good reason. Cutter accuses Taash of being a coward but Isabela rejects Cutter's proposal in favor of Taash's advice. Cutter is indignant that Taash is insinuating that he can't fight the dragon because he can't breathe fire like them, but Taash bluntly tells him he'll fail because he doesn't know what he's doing. Cutter eventually capitulates to Taash and leaves to sulk while Taash, Rook and Isabela continue to tell stories of Taash's adventures.

Eventually, Cutter joins the Dragon King's Rebel Antaam.^[1] During Lair of the Dragon King, Shathann has summoned Taash to their home to discuss the qunari tablet she has been studying but when they and Rook arrive, Taash discovered that Shathann's blood was spilt in her home and she was abducted. Taash caught Cutter's scent and called for Isabela to help rescue their mother. Isabela revealed Cutter had been in correspondence with the Dragon King about Shathann and the qunari tablet. Isabela says the qunari tablet is about adaari and in exchange for the tablet and Shathann, the Dragon King has promised to make Cutter an adaari. Isabela and Shathann knew the qunari tablet had something relevant to Taash being an adaari but Isabela felt Shathann should be the one to divulge the secrets of the tablet to Taash. In order to avenge the wrong Cutter inflicted on a fellow Lord, Isabela pledges the Lords of Fortune's help in aiding the Veilguard infiltrate the Dragon King's lair in Sharksmouth Mountain. After fighting their way through the Dragon King's lair, the Veilguard kill Cutter in battle.
