Shards is a collection in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The Tevinter Oculara reveal mysterious shards scattered across the Imperium's former colonies. The purpose of these shards may prove important—or, at the very least, profitable.
Acquisition
The collection triggers independently upon interacting with any of the oculara in each area visited.

Collection shards
There are a total of eight shard collections available to be completed:
Shards on the Plains (16)- Shards in the Oasis (15)
- Shards in the Emprise (13)
- Shards in the Graves (13)
- Shards in the Hinterlands (22)
- Shards in the Wastes (8)
- Shards on the Coast (13)
- Shards in the Approach (14)
Additional DLC shards
With the installation of the Jaws of Hakkon DLC an additional shard collection can be added to the collection list:

- Rewards vary per shard collection completed. Typical rewards include:
- Influence (50 - 500)
Shard side quests
Collecting shards enables the Inquisitor to complete the following six side quests in the Forbidden Oasis:
The Temple of Pride (Requires 6 shards)- Shard Collector
- The Cold Endured (Requires 6 + 12 + 18 = 36 shards)
- The Fire Captured (Requires 6 + 12 + 18 = 36 shards)
- The Spirit Calmed (Requires 6 + 12 + 18 = 36 shards)
- A Prideful Place
Additional DLC Shard Side Quest
With the installation of the Jaws of Hakkon DLC an additional side quest can be completed:
- The Mystery of Winter (Requires 12 shards)
Notes
- There are a total of 114 shards available without DLC.
- The Jaws of Hakkon DLC adds 12 additional shards, bringing the total amount of shards available to 126.
- To complete all shard side quests including those available in the Frostback Basin a total of 126 are required.
- There are no shards to be found in either Crestwood or the Fallow Mire.
