At the Lighthouse, Bellara Lutare introduces Rook to Lady Myrna and Vorgoth, representatives of the Mourn Watch. The Mourn Watchers talk about Emmrich Volkarin, Bellara's pen pal and Fade expert. The Mourn Watchers grant Rook and Bellara access to the Grand Necropolis so they can meet with Emmrich and recruit him to their team. After the Veilguard help Emmrich secure the Grand Necropolis from Venatori infiltrators, Rook explains Elgar'nan's and Ghilan'nain's plans to pierce the Veil to unleash the full force of the Blight—in addition to their already misuse of magic—will destroy the world and the Fade. Although Mourn Warchers rarely leave Nevarra, Emmrich was eager to lend the Veilguard his aid.

Vorgoth is one of the two main points of contact that The Veilguard has with The Mourn Watch, along with Myrna. They act as the faction merchant and they usually can be found in Necropolis Halls. When a Mourn Watcher Rook asks Emmrich about Vorgoth, he replies that no one knows exactly what Vorgoth is.

Should Emmrich choose to pursue lichdom then Vorgoth is heavily implied to be the one who kills him during the ritual, with Myrna assisting in some other way.

According to conversations with Emmrich and Myrna, Vorgoth collects art, and particularly enjoys landscapes.

During the Battle of Minrathous, Vorgoth uses their magic to redirect a blow coming from the defending Venatori Juggernaut/Bone Golem, which causes a nearby building to collapse and fall on the construct—ultimately bringing it down.
